
FT: Brazil 1-2 Mexico (London, Olympic Games final)

Brazil have fallen at the final hurdle with defeat to Mexico in the Olympic final and will have to settle for the silver medal. The Seleção did not start the game well and only came into it during the closing stages - but it was too little, too late. Great performance from Mexico who have claimed the country's first ever medal in men's football. Brazil will have to wait four years before trying to get their gold.
FULL TIME: Brazil 1-2 Mexico - It is game over at Wembley. The Mexicans are on the pitch celebrating their gold medal win. Brazillian players deflated and evidently disapointed with the final result.
90+2' - So close for Brazil. Hulk's cross is glanced over from Oscar, who is yards out. Should have made it 2-2.
90+2' - Brazil trying everything here to grab a really late equaliser.
90+1' - GOAL! Brazil 1-2 Mexico (Hulk) - Hulk charges forward and grabs a consilation goal for Brazil as he slides the ball past Corona and into the net.
89' - One last roll of the dice from Brazil as Lucas Moura jinks his way through and passes to Hulk. Two of Brazil's players who have done well since coming on.
88' - YELLOW CARD - Poor challenge from Vidrio.
87' - Salcido releases Fabian on the left who's pass is deflected through to the goalkeeper.
86' - Mexico playing with confidence and retaining possession now.
85' - SUBSTITUTION -Two goal hero Peralta goes off for R. Jiménez.
84' - SUBSTITUTION - Rafael leaves the field and mocks Juan as he goes. New PSG signing Lucas Moura comes on.
84' - Frustration all around as Rafael and Juan square up to each other in an argument.
83' - Corner almost finds its way to a yellow shirt after Pato's back heel.
82' - Manchester United defender Rafael with a strike inside the box, but it is blocked by Reyes.

80' - SUBSTITUTION - Jimenez is replaced by Vidrio for Mexico.
80' - Brazil still struggling to break down the Mexican defence, who have played well.
78' - Another corner to Brazil after Leandro Damião's shot is blocked.
77' - Brazil have less than 13 minutes to turn this around. They need something special if they don't want to settle for Silver again.
74' - GOAL! Brazil 0-2 Mexico (Peralta) – Peralta grabs his second goal of the game with a powerful header into the bottom corner. Brazil were unhappy with the free-kick being given in the first place.

72' - Oscar strikes from range and Neymar hits the rebound. Corner to Brazil.
71' - Mexican corner finds Fabian to head into an empty net after Gabriel fails to punch the ball clear. Ball goes over - could have been 2-0.
70' - SUBSTITUTION - Alexandre Pato replaces Sandro
69' - Mexio starting to hit back now and show more of the attacking threat they displayed in the first half.
68' - The offside flag is raised just as Peralta puts the ball into the back of Brazil's net.
67' - Corner to Brazil. Ball is headed high and wide by Leandro Damião.
66' - Oscar is fouled by Reyes on the right hand side. Hulk with the free-kick.
64' - Rafael plays the ball into the box to Leandro Damião's feet, but the striker is left kicking the air as the defender knicks the ball away just in time.
63' - Horrible mistake from Brazil, who seem to wait for a flag for handball, which allows the striker in with a great chance to make it 2-0. Good stop from Gabriel and the second strike hits the bar.
62' - Mano Menezes is animated on the touch-line, evidently frustrated with how the game is going.
60' - Much better from Brazil during this second-half as the Mexicans are struggling to cope. The Seleção need to find the net soon.
58' - The ball falls to Neymar close to goal but the Santos striker smashes it over. Poor strike.
56' - SUBSTITUITION - Ponce replaces Aquino
55' - Linesman spots a foul on Aquino
54' - Neymar returns to the field as Marcelo goes on a direct run into the box but has no support.
52' - Good cross from Oscar. Corona comes to punch the ball but takes more of Neymar, who is left laying on the floor.
51' - Brazil break with the ball. Oscar feeds it through to Neymar but he goes too early and is ruled offside.
50' - Neymar has been more effective in these first five minutes of the second-half than the whole previous 45.
49' - Neymar drives into the box and his shot is well blocked by Reyes. Neymar claims handball.
48' - Good cross from Oscar - just too close to goalkeeper Corona.
47' - Neymar with a nice little run and manages to get his shot away. High this time but his next will be better.
46' - Hulk beats the wall with the free-kick but the ball rebounds off Enriquez.
46' - The impressive Hulk charges forward and wins a free-kick on the edge of the Mexican box.

HALF TIME - Brazil 0-1 Mexico - Brazil trail at half-time after really poor display during the first 45 minutes. Peralta's early goal shocked the Seleção and they have struggled to get into the game since. Substitution of Alex Sandro for Hulk has been effective and more tactical changes will be needed from Menezes for the second-half if his side are to improve.
45+1' - Neymar works himself some space and strikes from distance. Better from him but nowhere near the standard he has been playing during the tournament.
45+1' - Great pass finds Rafael on the right-wing but his cross is poor.
45' - Free-kick from Neymar finds the head of Romulo but the ball goes wide.
43' - Hulk has done well since coming on and made all the difference for Brazil going forward. Ball is worked into the box and eventually headed to the keepers hands.
41' - YELLOW CARD - Marcelo gives away a poor foul with a late challenge on Peralta.
40' - Leandro Damião holds the ball up well for Marcelo to have a shot on goal, but it goes wide.
39' - Sandro penalised on the half-way line for a strong challenge. The Tottenham player feels hard done by.
38' - Fantastic long range strike from Hulk, which the Mexican goalkeeper just about saves. Ball goes out for a corner.
36' - Oscar and Marcelo with a neat one-two into the box. Chelsea midfielder pulls the ball back but the ball is cleared.
34' - The Mexicans are exploiting the left side of the pitch well and taking the game to Rafael. Strike from Salcido goes wide.
33' - Marco Fabian is allowed to strike from long range, luckily the ball goes over.
32' - Mexico look comfortable moving the ball around and taking their chances.

26' - Neymar penalised twice for pushing Jimenez as the ball is played over the top.
25' - Mexico work their way forward with some good short passing. Brazil are giving possession away too easily.
21' - Brazil are starting to get into the game now by controlling possession.
19' - Good turn from Chelsea midfielder Oscar in the box but the Mexican goalkeeper saves his shot.
18' - Free-kick to Mexico in a dangerous position but it comes to nothing.
16' - Romulo goes down in the box but Brazil are given a corner. Top-goalscorer Damião commits a foul as the ball is played in.
14' - Brazil don't look themselves here with some careless passing. Definitely their worst start to a game during this tournament.
13' - Free-kick is taken by Neymar. Crossed ball is headed over by Thiago Silva.
11' - Rafael fouled on the right hand side of the pitch, not far from the box.
11' - Corona takes his time making a clearance and almost lets Oscar in.
10' - Mexico are passing the ball around with ease.
8' - The Seleção are all over the place and seem disjointed at the minute. Giving away needless fouls.
6' - Brazil need to get focused here, the side look nervous after that early goal.
5' - Sandro fouls Fabian on the half-way line. Free-kick.
3' - Juan takes a knock to the nose from Peralta and receives treatment.
1' - GOAL! Brazil 0-1 Mexico (Peralta) – Mexico take a shock lead within a minute of kick-off. Brazilian defence slip up and allow the striker room to bend the ball into the bottom corner.
