Thiago Silva: Barça will cope without me
Brazil captain Thiago Silva has dismissed questions about a previous link with Barcelona, adding "my contract is with Paris Saint-Germain".
Thiago, 27, was asked whether his decision to join PSG would affect Barcelona, given the Catalan club's long-standing admiration of his talents. His reply, though, was simple.
"I'm only thinking about the Olympics. My contract is with Paris Saint-Germain and I hope to have success there, as I did with Milan," the defender told a press conference in Manchester.
"Barcelona are a great team and they have lived without Thiago Silva until now, as I have lived without Barcelona. It will make no difference."
Asked about his feelings towards his new club thus far, the former Fluminense defender revealed that he was yet to meet anyone from the club since signing in Brazil last month.
He added: "I haven't been there yet, I only signed the contract in a hotel in Rio de Janeiro. I had no further contact with anyone at the club. I know Leonardo and Ancelotti."
