FT: Brazil 3-2 Honduras (Newcastle, Olympic Games)

Brazil continued their winning run to reach the semi-finals - Action Images

Mano Menezes' see off nine man Honduras 3-2 at St James' Park thanks to a brace from Leandro Damiao and a penalty from Neymar.

Brazil 3-2 Honduras

Full time - Brazil 3-2 Honduras: A brave effort from Honduras who pushed their illustrious opponents all the way despite being down to ten men for much of the game. In the end though Brazil's attacking talent proved too much, and they move in to the semi-finals, where they will play either Great Britain or South Korea.

90+1' - The fourth official has signalled three minutes of injury time.

90' - Red card! The impressive Espinoza puts a dampener on his performance as he picks up a second yellow for a foul on Oscar. Honduras are down to nine men, and Brazil are surely through now.

89' - Brazil also make their final substitution, as Alexandre Pato replaces two-goal hero Damiao.

87' - Honduras make their third and final change, with Lozano replacing Bengston up front.

83' - Mejia takes aim from 35 yards but Gabriel is behind it to make an easy save.

80' - This time Figueroa is the one fouled, and Damiao is booked as a result.

78' - The referee gives Figueroa a yellow card for a high challenge on Oscar.

73' - Substitution: Honduras replace Garrido with Lopez.

70' - Lucas looks to make an immediate impact, shooting not far over from 20 yards.

67' - Substitution: Lucas Moura comes on for Brazil, replacing Hulk. Shortly afterwards, Figueroa hits an extremely ambitious free-kick from close to the half-way line which Gabriel collects comfortably.

66' - Romulo picks up a yellow card for a foul on Velasquez.

65' - Honduras go close to making it 3-3. Gabriel flaps at a corner, and Thiago Silva has to be alert to deflect Espinoza's effort over the bar.

63' - Damiao now has four goals in this tournament, and is just one behind top scorer Moussa Konate, whose Senegal side were knocked out by Mexico earlier today. Brazil have kept up their record of scoring at least three goals in each of their games so far.

60' - GOAL! Brazil 3-2 Honduras: Brazil are finally in front! Damiao spins away from his marker after being fed by Neymar, and beats Mendoza with a cool finish.

59' - Substitution: Honduras make their first change, with Mejia replacing Orlin Peralta.

55' - Neymar whips in a free-kick from a wide position which Mendoza is forced to tip over, but a free-kick is awarded to Honduras for an earlier foul.

50' - GOAL! Brazil 2-2 Honduras: Brazil hit back again! Damiao is brought down in the area by Velasquez, and a penalty is awarded. Neymar steps up and makes no mistake from the spot with a powerful effort.

48' - GOAL! Brazil 1-2 Honduras: The ten men lead! Espinoza, who did so well in the build up to the first goal, cuts in from the right and fires a low shot past Gabriel from the edge of the box.

46' - Honduras kick-off the second half.

Half time - Brazil 1-1 Honduras: The Seleção started brightly before falling behind against the run of play thanks to a goal from Martinez, but after Crisanto's red card and Damiao's equaliser they look likely to complete the turnaround in the second half.

45+1' - There will be two added minutes at the end of the first half.

45' - Oscar finds Rafael, and his cross is flapped at by Mendoza and goes behind for a corner. From the set piece, Honduras are awarded a free-kick for a foul in the box.

42' - Substitution: Danilo, who scored Brazil's opener against New Zealand, comes on to replace Sandro.

40' - Brazil are very much on top, and Mendoza has to get down well to parry Marcelo's powerful effort from range.

38' - GOAL! Brazil 1-1 Honduras: Hulk pulls the ball back past Mendoza, and with the Honduran defenders dithering over the clearance, Damiao makes a tackle to slide the ball in from close range.

37' - Marcelo feeds Oscar, but Mendoza is off his line brilliantly to collect.

36' - Damiao runs through and sees his toe poke deflect behind off Mendoza, but the corner comes to nothing.

33' - Red card! Crisanto gets a yellow after tripping Hulk, and just seconds later is booked again after bringing down Neymar.

27' - Oscar's low ball is controlled well by Damiao, but he fires his shot straight at the goalkeeper from inside the box.

26' - Hulk's through ball is just too heavy for Neymar and Mendoza is able to collect.

24' - Brazil have been behind once so far during these Olympics, and came back in style to beat Belarus 3-1. Can they do the same again today?

22' - Sandro receives a yellow card after going late into the back of Espinoza.

17' - The ball loops up in the Honduras penalty area for Damiao to try a spectacular overhead kick but it is way off target.

16' - Velasquez is booked for a lunging foul on Oscar.

15' - Figueroa hits a low free-kick from distance straight into the arms of Gabriel.

12' - GOAL! Brazil 0-1 Honduras: Honduras take a shock lead! After good work down the left from Espinoza, the ball finds its way to Martinez, who lashes the ball into the net.

11' - Oscar unlocks the Honduras defence with a fine pass to Neymar, but he is immediately put under pressure by Peralta and Mendoza and the ball is cleared.

5' - Another good chance for Brazil, as Neymar gets behind Crisanto to cut the ball back to Oscar, but his shot is blocked by Leveron.

1' - Brazil should be in front within seconds! Leandro Damiao latches on to a long ball out of defence and is through one-on-one, but sidefoots his effort wide of the far post.

17.00 - The anthems are over, the teams are ready, and Brazil get us underway!

16.55 - Mexico are now 4-2 up against Senegal and will play Japan in the semi-finals. Meanwhile at St James' Park, Brazil and Honduras are out for the national anthems.

16.52 - The confirmed teams are now at the bottom of the page. Gabriel keeps his place in goal after keeping a clean sheet against New Zealand, while Leandro Damiao is preferred to Alexandre Pato.

16.46 - Don't forget to send us your views on the game on Twitter, @Sambafoot_en

16.36 - Mexico have just gone 3-2 up against Senegal. Brazil kick-off at 17.00.

16.30 - We will bring you the confirmed starting line-ups shortly. Brazil are without Alex Sandro after he was sent off in the win over New Zealand, while Romulo, Oscar, Hulk and Alexandre Pato should all return after being rested.

16.30 - Earlier today, Japan won to book their spot in the last four, while Mexico and Senegal finished 2-2 and has gone to extra time. If Brazil win today, they will play either South Korea or hosts Great Britain for a place in the final.

16.30 - Welcome to Sambafoot's live coverage of Brazil v Honduras in the quarter-finals of the Olympic games. Brazil topped Group C after winning all three of their group games, but will have to be wary of Honduras, who have already claimed a shock win over Spain and memorably knocked the Seleção out of the 2001 Copa America.

Brazil: Gabriel; Rafael, Thiago Silva, Juan, Marcelo; Sandro, Romulo, Oscar; Hulk, Neymar, Damiao.

Honduras: Mendoza, Crisanto, Figueroa, Velasquez, Leveron; A Peralta, Martinez, O Peralta, Espinoza, Garrido; Bengston.

Referee: Felix Brych (Germany)
