Menezes refusing to get carried away: We will only think about gold if we reach the final

Brazil coach Mano Menezes is refusing to think about winning Olympic gold despite his side having breezed into the quarter-finals.

The Seleção booked their place in the last eight with a 100 per cent record courtesy of a 3-0 win over New Zealand in Newcastle on Wednesday.

However, Menezes will not allow he or his troops to get carried away. The former Corinthians boss told reporters: ''It's still a long way away. As I say to the players, I am just taking it game by game. We will only think about the gold if we reach the final.''
