Maicon out of Inter-Hajuk clash

Maicon has been left out of Inter Milan's 20-man squad for the first leg of their Europa League third qualifying round tie against Hajuk Split.

Nerazzuri coach Andrea Stramaccioni has yet to explain why he has taken the decision to drop the 31-year-old, but the news seemingly suggests that the Italian club are planning for life without the Brazil international.

Real Madrid and Chelsea are both believed to be interested in acquiring Maicon's services but neither club have yet to table Inter an offer.

The right-back's contract with the Italian giants expires next June.
