Brazil playmaker Paulo Henrique Ganso has quashed any suggestion that he could leave Santos this summer.

The 22-year-old’s future at the Vila Belmiro has been the subject of intense speculation over the last few weeks after Delcir Sonda, the owner of the group which holds 55 per cent of the player’s market value, claimed that the midfielder will not play for Santos again due to him being unhappy with life at the club.

However, Ganso later said on his Twitter account that he never requested to leave Santos, and he has now assured the club’s fans that he will be going nowhere this summer.

”I heard a lot of things that were not correct, Twitter was just a way for me to show to everyone what I was thinking and feeling,” he told reporters.

”Today, my future is at Santos. I have a contract until 2015, and right now I am focused on winning the gold at the Olympic Games for the Seleção.”

Recent reports in Britain have suggested that Arsenal are interested in signing Ganso.
