Guly and Southampton win another pre-season clash

On Saturday, Southampton beat Ligue 1 side Evian 1-0 in France. A first-half goal from striker Jason Puncheon was enough for the English side, preparing for their return to the Premier League. After a 4-1 victory over Etoile Carouge earlier in the week, the Saints finish their tour of Europe with a 100% record.

Brazilian Guly do Prado, who came on for goalscorer Puncheon at half-time said of the victory: "It was a good game for us today. We won 1-0 with big opportunities created in both halves. We are increasing in quality and confidence. We must continue down this road and continue working. We have four more games to prepare for the start of the tournament."
