Bahia sack Falcão

Paulo Roberto Falcão has been sacked from his role as coach of Bahia.

The 58-year-old only spent five months in charge at Fonte Nova, having joined the club at the beginning of February.

Falcão managed to guide Bahia to the Baiano state championship title in May, but his position at the club had come under intense scrutiny in recent weeks as the side only managed to pick up one win out of their last ten Brasileirão matches.

Following Thursday night's 4-0 loss away at Fluminense, Bahia decided that the former Brazil international was no longer the man to take the club forward.

Falcão leaves the Tricolor in nineteenth place in the Brasileirão, two points ahead of Atlético-GO, who lie at the very bottom of the table.
