Magath – Diego will remain at Wolfsburg

Wolfsburg coach Felix Magath has confirmed that Diego will not be leaving the club this summer.

The midfielder, who has won 33 caps for Brazil, spent last season on loan at Atlético Madrid after falling out with Magath.

Diego has been strongly linked with Rio de Janeiro giants Flamengo, but Magath has already informed the player that he will join up with the rest of the Wolfsburg squad at the end of July after completing his knee rehabilitation in his homeland.

''I expect him back fit and healthy,'' the 58-year-old told German newspaper Bild.

''We want him to be fully fit by July 31. It is clear that he is no longer on the market. He will be staying with us.''
