Maldini – I can't understand why AC Milan sold Thiago Silva

Cesare Maldini has admitted that he cannot understand why his former club AC Milan opted to sell Thiago Silva to Paris Saint-Germain.
The 27-year-old joined the French outfit on Saturday for a reported fee of €42 million, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic is expected to follow the Brazilian defender to the Parc des Princes later this week.
''For many years [Silvio] Berlusconi has always tried to strengthen the team by purchasing high-level players. However, in recent years this aspect seems to have changed,'' Maldini told TMW.
''I can share in a sense, the sale of Ibrahimovic, as he's almost 31 years old, but I do not understand the choice of giving up Thiago Silva.
''The Brazilian is young and has more time to continue to improve. He had been appointed captain for the future, now we must find new solutions in this area.''
