Palmeiras crowned Copa do Brasil champions

Palmeiras have won the Copa do Brasil for the second time in their history after beating Coritiba 3-1 on aggregate.

Having won the first leg 2-0 at the Arena Barueri last week, Luiz Felipe Scolari's side found themselves on the back foot from the off but managed to stifle the hosts attack until Ayrton fired in a well-taken free kick just after the hour mark.

But any hope Coritiba had of staging a comeback were quickly extinguished as Betinho headed in Marcos Assunção's free kick four minutes later.

The 1-1 draw was enough for Palmerias to win their first major title since 1999.
