Botafogo cruise to victory against Corinthians

Botafogo cruised to a 3-1 victory against Corinthians at the Pacaembu on Wednesday night.

Former Le Mans defender Paulo André's own goal put the visitors in front in the 27th minute before Elkeson found the back of the net twice midway through the second half.

Chicão managed to pull one back for Corinthians in the final minute of the game but it proved little more than a consolation.

The result means the Copa Libertadores holders remain second from bottom, while Botafogo move up to fourth, four points behind leaders Atlético Mineiro.
