Corinthians no longer interested in Pato

Corinthians director Roberto de Andrade has admitted that the club have given up on trying to sign AC Milan forward Alexandre Pato.
The newly-crowned Copa Libertadores champions have long been linked with the 22-year-old as they look to strengthen their attacking options after parting company with Adriano in March.
Corinthians had hoped Pato would be interested in a move back to his homeland in a bid to improve his chances of being called up to Brazil’s squad for the 2014 World Cup after missing the majority of last season due to a recurring thigh injury.
But Pato's inclusion in the Seleção’s 18-man squad for the Olympic Games has resulted in the Timão deciding not to follow up their interest, as the tournament in London will provide the attacker the opportunity to prove his quality to coach Mano Menezes.
"There is no way for that this deal can happen anymore," Andrade told Globo Esporte.
"If he had not been included in the Olympic squad, there would be a chance."
