Hulk hits back at Romario

Hulk has hit back at Romario's negative reaction to the striker's inclusion in Brazil's Olympic squad, stating that he deserves respect from the former Seleção star.

The Porto frontman was one of the three overage players coach Mano Menezes included in Brazil's 18-man squad for the London Games, with Marcelo and Thiago Silva filling in the other two slots.

Romario told reporters on Friday that Hulk should not have been called up, arguing that Menezes should have picked another defender instead.

''Romario is a guy who I have always admired and I will always respect," Hulk told Folha de São Paulo.

''He was a world champion and is a guy who has done many things for Brazil. So, he is a person who I have always respected.

''But I think I also deserve to be respected. But he is a guy I admire and like very much.''
