André Santos hopes to become Arsenal regular to force Brazil return

André Santos hopes that he can return to Arsenal as a regular this season, in order to force his way back into the Brazil set-up.

André Santos, 29, was told by Mano Menezes in an interview earlier this year that he had fallen behind Marcelo in the pecking order, but the Gunner believes he can force his way back into contention.

"If Mano has said that, he has done so deliberately," the full-back told The Elastico. "He is open, he knows a lot about football and follows the game closely.

"Marcelo had a great season at Real Madrid. He was always in the starting line-up. Mano prefers Marcelo because he is currently better.

"If I want Mano to call me up again, I need to be a regular at Arsenal and show Mano that I have the qualities to return to the Brazil side.

"By playing well next season, I can make that happen. Mano will observe me and recall me. I have no doubt about it."
