Man City target Dedé wants Vasco stay

Vasco da Gama centre-back Dedé has stated his intention to remain at Vasco, in the face of interest from Premier League winners Manchester City winners.

Dedé, 23, was voted the best centre-back of the Campeonato Brasileiro last season and hopes to remain in the league for some time to come.

"I would like to stay (at Vasco) as long as possible so that I can be close to my family," Dede told Extra Online.

"And when asked if he felt he is ready to play in Europe, he said: "I am ready to mark European strikers, but it would be even better if I could do so playing for Vasco."
