Romario – Neymar is almost as good as Messi

Former Brazil international Romario believes Santos forward Neymar is almost as good as Barcelona ace Lionel Messi.

At the age of 20, Neymar is often compared to Messi, with Brazil legend Pelé recently stating that Peixe attacker is a more 'complete' player than the three-time Ballon d’Or winner.

Romario is convinced Neymar is the most talented Brazilian footballer right now, but acknowledges that Messi has the edge of his fellow countryman.

''Neymar is the best Brazilian player and he is not too far behind Messi, who has more experience, more titles and a certain advantage,'' Romario told L'Equipe.

''But if you make two identical teams with Messi on one side and Neymar on the other, the result would be the same.''
