Oscar pleased to finally come to prominence in Brazil
Internacional midfielder Oscar has told reporters of his joy at coming to prominence in recent weeks, having found himself in the shadows of Brazil's other talented youngsters.
Oscar, 20, had found himself progressing in the background while Ganso, Neymar and Lucas in particular grabbed the press attention.
Now, though, following a series of good performances with the national side, Oscar is suddenly the name on everybody's lips.
''I have been playing well since the South American Under-20 Championship,'' Oscar told Globo Esporte. ''The only thing was, Neymar was very good and they also had Lucas. He had a whole Seleção, plus other players who stood out.
''It wasn't only me at the [Under-20] World Cup. There was Dudu and Henrique too. I stood out more at the end, but it was a good tournament for everyone. Now, there are many from the Under-20 side in the Seleção.''
