Victor Caceres close to Flamengo arrival

Flamengo are close to arranging the early arrival of Paraguay midfielder Victor Caceres from Libertad, with the player possibly arriving as early as next week.

Caceres, 27, has already signed a pre-contract with the Rubro-Negro to start in July, but with the transfer window having shifted to begin on June 20, Flamengo are looking for early progress.

"We're just waiting for the response of Libertad. I see no reason for them not to accept, since in about 15 days his contract ends and the club would receive nothing anyway," Caceres' agent Régis Marques told Globo Esporte.

The combative midfielder is set to sign a four-year deal at the Gávea, earning himself approximately £30,000 a month in wages.
