Flamengo ready to make an offer for Del Piero

Flamengo are reportedly ready to offer free agent Alessandro Del Piero a contract.

The Rio de Janeiro-based club are believed to be in the market for a new frontman after parting company with Ronaldinho on Monday due to a dispute over unpaid wages.

And according to Sky Sport Italia, Flamengo see Del Piero as the ideal candidate to replace the former Ballon d'Or winner.

However, the Rubro Negro will face stiff competition for the Italian's signature as a host of clubs around the world are interested in the forward's services.
