Having sealed his transfer to Corinthians, former Bragantino midfielder Romarinho has quickly set his sights on taking part in this year’s Copa Libertadores – with Corinthians already in the semi-final.
Romarinho, 21, was a target of São Paulo last season, but six goals in this season’s Campeonato Paulista drew the attention of Corinthians who moved quickly to secure the youngster.
The attacking-midfield playmaker was included in the team of the year for the state championship only last month.
“It will depend on Tite. I am working and keeping my diet on the ground, but I hope to be included for the Libertadores,” Romarinho said at his unveiling.
“As with life, it all changes so fast. I disputed the Paulista for Bragantino and now, maybe, I can dispute the Libertadores for Corinthians.
“I’m ready. I have been preparing a long time for this. To wear the shirt of Corinthians comes with great weight, but I am ready. Here it is all totally different – it is a top club. I am amazed by the press also. Everything here is carries a great weight, it’s Corinthians.”
