The Brazil captain has been heavily linked with a host of Europe’s top clubs over the past twelve months, with Manchester City, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain all believed to be interested in the centre-back’s services.
However, with Thiago Silva under contract with AC Milan until 2016, Allegri is confident he will have the 27-year-old within his ranks next season.
”I would say that Thiago Silva staying is 99 per cent,” he told Sky Sport Italia.
”He’s the best defender in the world, three levels above the others. He would be a serious loss because he is a champion and there are so few of those.
”We should not forget that we have a president like Berlusconi, who has ambition, a desire to keep the squad at the highest level, and since he’s a great connoisseur of football who has won so much, he knows that losing Thiago Silva would mean losing an important part of Milan.”
