Arsenal midfielder Denilson hopes to guide São Paulo to trophy
With São Paulo set to play in the semi-final of the Copa do Brasil against Coritiba, midfielder Denilson wants to guide them to the final before leaving.
Denilson, 24, has been on-loan at São Paulo since last July and with his twelve month loan set to expire on June 30th, the holding midfielder hopes to play his part in cup success.
"I always show my desire to stay. São Paulo are also working to see me stay. I leave this with them. I have stated my desire. Now, I am completely focused on my work so that I can be champion," Denilson told Terra.
With the final in July, the Arsenal man would miss out if no new deal can be worked. However, he was quick to stress the challenges that lie ahead in the semi-final encounter with Coritiba.
"We'll encounter a very difficult team," he continued. "Many people have put São Paulo down as a finalist, but we must take it step-by-step - they are two very difficult games. We have to get a good result at home and be careful"
