Wolfsburg president Dr. Francisco Sanz has said that Diego will be allowed to play for the club again following a loan spell at Atlético Madrid.
Diego, 27, arrived at the Volkswagen Arena from Juventus in summer of 2010, but was sent out to Atleti just one season later after falling out with Die Wolfe coach Felix Magath.
However, the midfielder went on to play a key role in Atlético Madrid's successful Europa League campaign last season, and now Sanz is more than happy to welcome the Brazilian back to Wolfsburg.
''Should he return to us, Diego is a player we would have to play,'' Sanz told Bild. "His skills are unquestionable.
''I am sure he will be well received by the team as well.''
