Former AC Milan goalkeeper Dida joins Portuguesa

Portuguesa have secured the services of former AC Milan goalkeeper Dida.

The 38-year-old, who had been a free agent for two years, has signed a contract with the São Paulo-based club which runs until the end of the year.

''It's a fresh start and I realise it will be difficult at first,'' Dida told reporters at a press conference on Friday.

''Two years without playing is a long time, but I have always been training, keeping myself in good physical condition, so I can return to the field in 15 or 20 days.''
