Diego seeking at permanent deal at Atlético Madrid

Diego has admitted that he wants to make his Atlético Madrid loan deal permanent, despite Wolfsburg coach Felix Magath recently insisting that the midfielder will return to the Volkswagen Arena next season.

The 27-year-old playmaker played a key role in Atlético’s successful Europa League campaign,  but the Brazilian has admitted that the Spanish club have still not offered him a long-term contract.

''The truth is, I have no offer from the club to continue playing here next season,'' Diego told AS.

''I have a spectacular relationship with my teammates. Diego Simeone has also proven his value as a coach by winning the Europa League, and I hope to continue at this club that respects me.''
