Hulk agent advises Chelsea to move quickly
Teodoro Fonseca has been busy promoting his client in recent days, with Chelsea considered firm favourites.
"We are open to talks with Chelsea at any time, any place," Fonseca told the Daily Mail. "There is interest, but at the moment there is still nothing concrete. He likes the English Premier League a lot and Chelsea are a good club for Hulk."
Yet, in a separate interview with Lancenet!, Fonseca revealed a more complicated situation for his client.
"Porto is a big club, with a great structure and a name that is respected across Europe. But the problem is the Portuguese League. Hulk has basically won everything there. He dreams of winning the Champions’ League and being an automatic starter for Brazil. And the only way he can achieve this is to go to a more competitive league, one like the Premier League, which we admire greatly.
"There hasn’t been an official proposal so far. There has been a lot of interest in him, but it has yet to go further than that. All that should change next week. Besides Chelsea, there are four more English clubs interested in him.
"Porto will not let him go easily. His release clause is 100 million euros, but ultimately it is the player’s wish to take on another challenge that will make the difference. Those are the words of Porto’s directors. They have said as much, and will not stand in his way, so though it will not be easy for those English clubs financially, there is room for negotiation. We can sort everything out, I am sure."
It seems certain that the Hulk transfer saga will run-and-run over the coming weeks, with several clubs yet to get caught-up in the speculation.
