Flamengo and Palmeiras both started their 2012 Campeonato Brasileiro campaign with draws while Figueirense managed to snatch all three points from Náutico.
Sport Recife 1-1 Flamengo
Marquinhos Gabriel gave Sport the lead on the hour mark, but Vagner Love denied the Pernambucano side a dream return to the top flight by scoring fifteen minutes from time.
Palmeiras 1-1 Portuguesa
Luan fired the Verdão in front with a stunning strike from the edge of the box in the 37th minute, but Rodriguinho denied Luiz Felipe Scolari's side victory by heading home just three minutes before the final whistle.
Figueirense 2-1 Náutico
Caio scored a last-gasp winner as Figueirense ran out 2-1 winners over Náutico in Florianópolis.
Araújo seemed to have earned the away side a point when he scored a penalty ten minutes from time.
But Figueirense, who led through a 76th minute Fernandes strike, won it when Caio scrambled the ball into the net three minutes into stoppage time.
