Argentine defender threatens Neymar ahead of Libertadores

Peruzzi, 19, is aware that the Brazilian forward is fond of showing-off when his side are in the ascendency and has warned the Santos star that his antics will not be tolerated.

"I know Neymar has no idea who I am, but he will get to know me soon enough," the Velez defender told Argentine-newspaper Olé.

"I would tell him to watch his back. I am a player who hits hard and who has a lot of character. I give everything on the pitch."

Asked specifically about Neymar's love of the lambretta, where he puts the ball over his opponents head, Peruzzi was equally unequivocal.

"If I grab him afterwards, I'll break him in half! No, it's true that it is annoying when he does these things while winning but he always plays like this.

"He likes the tricks. I have to keep cool; the Brazilians love to show off and I'm a bit of a hothead!"
