Diego – Atlético Madrid played an almost perfect match

Diego believes he and his Atlético Madrid team-mates played 'an almost perfect match' in their 3-0 win over Athletic Bilbao in the Europa League final on Wednesday night.

The Brazilian midfielder, who sealed victory for Atlético late in the game, told UEFA's official website:

''We played against a tough rival like Athletic, but we played an almost perfect match.

''It was a difficult match, we never said it was going to be easy. I have to thank God for this [victory].''
