Newcastle continue to chase Twente defender Douglas

Newspaper reports suggest that Newcastle are continuing their pursuit of Twente centre-back Douglas.

Douglas, 24, had a bid from Newcastle rejected in January, but the Daily Mail reports that the Magpies are still scouting his matches with a view to a summer move.

The defender is yet to appear in the colours of the Brazilian national side, but following his development in recent times, there are growing calls for the former-Joinville man's inclusion.

Newcastle, though, are not the only interested party, with Aston Villa and Juventus also rumoured suitors.
