A brilliant performance from Botafogo saw them run out 3-1 victors over Vasco in the final of the Taça Rio, meaning that Bota will now face Taça Guanabara champions Fluminense for the overall Rio de Janeiro state championship crown.
Loco Abreu was the man in the right place to grab two goals, but it was an outstanding team performance that provided the impotus for the result, against a Vasco-side badly missing Dedé.
