He has won nearly everything possible in the European game and now it seems that Clarence Seedorf may be heading for a new challenge - in Brazil.
Seedorf, 36, is out-of-contract with Milan this summer and Botafogo are looking to persuade the Dutchman to make the step down to South America.
"We have been talking about that for a while and now it has fallen into public domain," coach Oswaldo de Oliveira told reporters. "There is nothing settled or close to being settled. We will see.
"It is too soon to talk about that, because it may not happen. The issue about Seedorf is still at an early stage, so much so to comment on it when we have a game on Sunday.
"It is clear that this is a marketing move and that the club need to take this step."
