Botafogo confirm interest in AC Milan veteran Seedorf

The 36-year-old's contract with Milan expires in June, and reports in Brazil earlier this week suggested that the Fogão are keen on bringing the midfielder to Engenhão this summer.
Seedorf has said in the past that he would welcome the opportunity to ply his trade in Rio de Janeiro, where he and his Brazilian wife own an apartment, and apparently Botafogo have already been in contact with the former Netherlands international via email and telephone.
De Oliveira admitted to reporters on Friday that his side are interested Seedorf's services, but stressed that no deal is close to being struck yet.
''We have been talking about that for a while and now it has fallen into public domain," the Brazilian said.
''There is nothing settled or close to being settled. We will see.
''It is too soon to talk about that, because it may not happen. The issue about Seedorf is still at an early stage, so much so to comment on it when we have a game on Sunday.
''It is clear that this is a marketing move and that the club need to take this step.''
