Dnipro 0-1 Partizan

Schalke 0-1 Shakhtar

Many Shakhtar’s players such as brazilian midfielders Matuzalem and João Batista made much hard work but all they are far from optimal conditions. Striker Brandão and entered on 62 minute Elano both spent some chances to make a goal. Striker Ailton and playmaker Lincoln from Schalke both were very dangerous. Defender Bordon has not ever played because of the injury.

Alkmaar 2-1 Aachen

Sochaux 0-1 Olympiacos

Striker Ilan (Sochaux) was not play because of the injury.

Midfielder Rivaldo (Olympiacos) played from start minute and replaced by Giovanni on 86 minute.

Middlesbrough 2-1 GAK

On 60 minute midfielder Doriva threaded a ball through to Hasselbaink on the edge of the penalty area and the dutch striker scored second goal to seal Middlesbrough’s place in the Round of 16.

Newcastle 2-1 Heerenveen

Steaua 2-0 Valencia (Steaua (4 – 3) wins on penalties)

Fábio Aurélio from Valencia played all 90 minutes.

Benfica 1-1 CSKA Moskva

Striker Vágner Love and right midfielder Carvalho created many problems for their compatriots from Benfica Luisão and Alcides. On 23 referee aned clean Vagner Love’s goal, Carvalho started goal attack on 49. Geovanni moved not bad on right flank.

Stuttgart 0-2 Parma (Match decided after extra time)

On extra time Parma storm forward with three players against one Stuttgart defender. Midfielder Simplicio advanced into the penalty area from the left and tested Hildebrand who can only parry the shot and Pisanu is there to score from the rebound.

Feyenoord 1-2 Sporting

Defender Anderson Polga suffered a thigh muscle injury in previous game and misses out this one. But another three brazilian from Sporting played well. Two superb second-half goals from striker Liedson on 62 minute and playmaker Fabio Rochemback on 83 minute were enough to put the Portuguese side into the last 16 of the UEFA Cup. Right back Rogerio played too.

Zaragoza 2-1 Fenerbahçe

In this match Alvaro and Savio from Zaragoza played opposite Fábio Luciano, Marco Aurélio, Márcio Nobre and Alex from Fenerbahçe. Savio scored a second goal after the break. And Alex did get a late consolation goal with a couple of minutes to go.

Auxerre 3-1 Ajax

Maxwell from Ajax played all 90 minutes.

Lille 2-0 Basel

Kléber from Basel played until 66 minute.

Sevilla 2-0 Panathinaikos

Baptista and Daniel Alves both played not bad, but new signing Adriano was brilliant. He entered on 64 minute, crossed for a headed goal of Makukula on 82 and clinched Sevilla’s place in the last 16 of the UEFA Cup on 90+2.

Villarreal 2-0 Dynamo Kyiv

Villareal lost one player whe Román Riquelme was sent-off on 42 minute but this cannot halt UEFA Intertoto Cup winners Villarreal. There was the worst game of Dynamo Kyiv and of all it brazilians (Kleber, Diogo Rincón and Rodolfo) too. Defence midfielder Marcos Senna from Villareal showed good performance.
