Big spenders Corinthians have hit back at media reports today suggesting Manchester United rejected their bid for midfielder Kleberson.

Kleberson"s agent Marcos Antonio e Silva had been reported as saying that MSI, the investment company that runs Corinthians, did bid for his client but the bid was turned down along with the personal conditions.

However, Corinthians says it has reached a fee with United, and now just needs to thrash out personal terms with the player.

“This information [that United had rejected the bid from Corinthians] is not true and we have closed everything with Manchester United," Andres Sanchez, the club"s vice-president, told Gazeta Esportiva.

“The problem is that Kleberson made initial demands that were beyond our reality, but we are going to hold more talks with him."

Corinthians also seems set to sign Werder Bremen midfielder Gustavo Nery and River Plate"s Javier Mascherano, and is reportedly trying to sign Roger of Benfica.
