The Carioca club released a statement on their official website confirming the deal and said they will unveil the midfielder later this week.
Fluminense have yet to disclose the length of Thiago Neves’ contract, but it’s understood the 26-year old has signed a four-year deal with the club.
After the announcement was made, the player said:
”I would like to thank the president Peter Siemsen and Celso Barros (president of club sponsor) because I’m coming home. I feel comfort, pleasure and security in defending a club which helped me grow in this profession. Fluminense now have a strong squad with the conditions to fight for titles and i’m coming to add to that. You can count on my commitment.”
This will be Neves’ third spell at Fluminense having played for the Tricolor Carioca from 2007 to 2008 and then returning on loan from Al-Hilal in 2009.
