Ramires was an automatic starter in Brazil’s 2011 Copa America campaign, but hasn’t been called up to Menezes’ squad since the Selecao’s 3-2 defeat against Germany in August.

The former Benfica midfielder has been in a rich vein of form for Chelsea so far this season, netting a total of five goals in his last thirteen games.

In an interview with Globoesporte, the Brazilian midfielder admitted he was surprised at being left out of Menezes’ squad, but believes his current form merits a place in the national side.

”I can’t wait to return. I know it all depends on what I am going to do on the pitch and I know I am doing really well. I have to keep doing the same thing to get the call up again,” said the Brazilian.

”The way I’m playing for Chelsea, I deserve to be back (in the squad). But I can’t disrespect my team mates.”

He added, ”It was always the dream and I fort hard to make it come true. Now, I’m out (of the squad), but I’ll fight to get the call up again.”

If you think Ramires has been one of the best Brazilians playing in Europe this year, why not vote for him to win the 2011 Samba Gold Trophy?
