The central defender was delighted to wear the armband for the first time and even managed to get on the score sheet in Milan’s 4-0 victory against Chievo.

Speaking to the Italian press after the game, the Brazilian international said how proud he was to captain the Italian giants.

“I am happy to have scored a goal. But I am also proud to wear the captain’s armband for the first time. It’s a special day for me especially since I had the honour to captain the national team, a few days ago.”

The twenty seven year old defender has attracted strong interest from Barcelona, but has insists he’s happy at Milan and his ambition is to captain the Rossoneri more in the future.
