For quite a while, Neymar has been strongly linked with a move to the Camp Nou, but recently decided to commit his future to Santos, agreeing to stay with the Paulista club up until the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

The nineteen year old Brazilian is now hoping to help guide Santos to World Club Cup glory in Tokyo this December, but will potentially have a tough task on his hands with Barcelona likely to be Santos’ opponents in the final.

Barcelona midfielder, Xavi spoke to Brazilian television network, Sportv, praising the youngster’s ability.

”Neymar is a very talented player and he has an amazing ability,” said the Spanish ace.

”There has been plenty of talk about a move to Barcelona or Real Madrid, but he recently renewed his deal with Santos. I think he can become a great player and he can make a difference for any side.”

The thirty one year old also believes Neymar’s Santos are one of the strongest side’s in the FIFA World Club cup tournament and expects to come up against them in the final.

”It looks like the final could be against Santos, but i’m not sure. There are many good teams involved, so it’ll be difficult,” Xavi said.
