Brazilian media giant Globo are reporting that Volyn forward Maicon Oliveira is the first-choice candidate to replace the retiring Andrey Shevchenko at the end of the season.
The ex-Flamengo striker is the league's top scorer, yet remains a relative unknown in the rest of the footballing world.
"I am very happy with this opportunity that is emerging here to maybe replace Shevchenko," said the 11-time scorer so far this campaign.
"It is a great responsibility. The newspapers are already talking about that a lot and I hope to continue doing a good job, keeping my head in the right place to continue to help my teammates.
"If today I have 11 goals at Volyn, tomorrow I can maybe have 15 or 20 at Dynamo Kiev, who knows? Let's see what happens."
