Having come on for his third substitute appearance in a handful of weeks against Santos, it appears that the 18-year-old may be given a starting berth in the Copa Sudamerica clash with Universidad de Chile this week.
“It was really a great opportunity for me," said Thomás of the game with Santos. “I thank my colleagues and [coach] Luxemburgo who have shown great confidence in my football and were very supportive.
“Everyone told me to do the same things I do in practice and that"s what I did."
