This time it was the turn of veteran left-back Léo to stoke the fires ahead of the tournament, by insisting Santos are not fearful of a potential meeting with Barcelona in the final.
“We can not forget that before the final, we have to get through a semi-final encounter,” said the Santos player.
“Barça is seen as the best team in the world and it is no accident because they have a team of great quality, especially when in possession of the ball.
“But there are not ‘Gods’. They are mortal like us.”
The experienced full-back reiterated his belief that come December his Santos side can match Barcelona on the pitch.
“On the field, it is 11 against 11, this is where the match is resolved.
“Football is a sport full of surprises. Santos will be well prepared and focused to give it our best shot.”
