With the Catalan club operating a strict €45million + player sales transfer budget policy, it is believed that the vast majority of next year’s budget is being reserved for an audacious attempt to snatch Thiago Silva from AC Milan.

The European Champions have been interested in the Brazil star for a while now and despite the defender signing a new extended deal at the San Siro, he is known to be interested in the move to Spain.

Alongside Thiago Silva, it is thought the club are looking at parting with €2.5 million to see the return of Sporting defender Alberto Botía to the Camp Nou.

Ex-Fluminense defender Silva is one of the highest rated in the world game and would not come cheap, but Barcelona have shown before that they are willing to pay a high price for those they desire.
