Having been ostacised following his dismissal for a reckless lunge on Karim Benzema in a friendly earlier this year, Hernanes has now won back his place with the national team and today spoke to the official CBF website of his determination to stay put.
“After the few matches that I was not summoned, I hope to take this opportunity to show my talent,” said the Lazio star, now attracting the interest of Tottenham.
“My goal is to establish myself in the Seleção, to make myself a certain pick, and I am preparing for these games as the starting point in my journey,” said the player.
The precise long-term role of the player in the side is unknown, with Hernanes occupying an advanced role for Lazio, yet often being required to drop into a deeper role for the national side.
