Sao Paulo 0-0 Corinthians

Tottenham target Dagoberto forced Julio Cesar into a good save in the first half, before Casemiro headed against the post. In the second half, Emerson wasted a glorious chance for the visitors when he headed over from close range while completely unmarked.

Overall, clear cut chances were at a premium, and both sides were forced to settle for a point. It allows the hosts to temporarily replace Vasco da Gama at the top on goal difference, having played a game more, while Corinthians are a point behind in third.

Fluminense 3-1 Avai

In a frantic start, Fred fired the hosts in front after four minutes, scoring from the rebound after his first shot was saved. Just four minutes later Avai equalised, with William Souza picking up Lincoln’s clever backheel and finishing calmly from 12 yards.

Fred scored his and Flu’s second with a precise first time finish to put them back in front ten minutes before the break, and it was left to Alejandro Martinuccio to seal the win by tapping in Mariano’s low cross on 79′.

Atletico Mineiro 1-1 Flamengo

Flamengo’s run without a win stretched to seven games as they were held by Atletico Mineiro. The visitors looked set for another defeat when Daniel Carvalho curled in a fine free-kick from just outside the box five minutes into the second half.

However, Ronaldinho was once again Flamengo’s saviour, and 12 minutes later he levelled matters when his powerful shot was deflected past the Atletico ‘keeper. Serginho was sent off for the home side with one minute to go, but they held on for a point.
