Real Madrid, Chelsea and Portuguese giants Benfica have all been jostling to land the Santos star – but Robinho appears to have his heart set on a move to El Santiago Bernabeu.
Robinho’s agent Wagner Ribeiro has now confirmed that both the offers from Chelsea and Benfica have been rejected.
“We have said no to Chelsea, who would have paid €10 million, and to Benfica,” Ribeiro told Brazilian television.
“As far as Madrid, there have been contacts and everything will be looked at in the future.”
Robinho’s future was put on hold recently due to the kidnapping of his mother. Fortunately she was released earlier this month.
Transfer talks had been put on hold due to the situation with the player’s mother, but Madrid president Florentino Perez immediately confirmed that negotiations would re-start, following her release, and now it seems a move is all but finalised.
Robinho himself admitted that talks with Madrid were nearly concluded.
“The transfer negotiations with Real Madrid are advanced, but I cannot talk of Real Madrid out of respect for my current team Santos,” said Robinho.
