After 15 days in the Intensive care unit of the Pasteur Hospital in Rio de Janeiro, Ricardo Gomes was today trasnferred to a private room.

There was more good news from the hospital as a statement confirmed he is now breathing without the help of devices and has continued to be able to speak to family and staff.

He is now described as recovering well from the stroke sustained during the match with Flamengo.

He is attending regular physiotherapy sessions to help improve his mobility and also speech therapy.

Even though he is recovering ahead of schedule, Doctors at the hospital aren’t predicting a date for full recovery but they are confident he won’t suffer a relapse.
