Thiago Neves wants Flamengo to defend betterThiago Neves used to play for Hamburg
Neves, who was selected in the Brazil squad to face Argentina this week, has concerns over the amount of goals Flamengo have been conceding.
Vanderlei Luxemburgo's men have conceded six goals in the last two matches and Neves hopes that the attacking players in the team realise they have defensive responsabilities as well.
"I think there is a problem, but it is not all down to the defence, but everybody's," Neves said.
"On the pitch, the attacking players and the midfielders, we have all made mistakes. A team like Flamengo, who wants to win the championship, can't concede so many goals.
"We must now do everything to stop conceding and all the team needs to put in that effort for us to succeed."
Flamengo play Corinthians in what is becoming a crucial game at the top of the league but Neves is confident Flamengo will be able to play their own football in the game.
He continued: "It is decisive. But its not as crucial as the manager was saying before the Vasco da Gama game.
"The championship race will not end if we lose. It is an important match so we will have the play well, and play what we can."
