The 26-year-old was named as one of 24 players to represent the Seleção in the first leg of Copa Roca, against Argentina on September 14.
Speaking to Terra, Réver said: “I was travelling home when my wife called me with the news. I was very happy and also surprised, because Brazil is full of very good players.
“But I hope to get the most out of this opportunity. I want to show my best football so that I can stay.”
Réver made his Brazil debut against Iran last October, and was also called up by Mano Menezes for the squads for the games against the USA, Ukraine and Argentina last year.
“Being called up against Argentina also has a special taste, because the game is a classic South American fixture,” he added.
Brazil travel to Argentina for the first leg of the Copa Roca, in Cordoba on September 14. On September 28, the second leg takes place in Belém, Brazil.
